Left 1 Alive: The Sugar Mill

Following on from when I went through Dark Carnival's 1st map: the Highway, without any bots or Special Infected or Mobs so it was just me against the Infected. I began to have this itch that needed scratching: What would happen if I tried the same thing, but this time of the Hard Rain map, the Sugar Mill? The reason I wanted it to be the Sugar Mill is very simple: the Witches. I wanted to see if they would still be in play on that map once I typed in the following codes into the console:

map [mapname] realism
sv_cheats 1
director_no_bosses 1
director_no_mobs 1
director_no_specials 1
kick Ellis
kick Coach
kick Rochelle
kick Nick
The kick command wont work on the character you are, so dont try it.

So I loaded the map up and began to hear the faint cry of a Witch. But that wasn't enough, I needed to know that there was Witches in play on tihs map. And thankfullly, they were: Now I had a challenge on my hands. I had several failed attempts at going through this map. And this was the first succesful one I had done. The failures ranged between running out of ammo, getting incapacitated... or getting killed by a Witch after I disturb it. And even trying to cr0wn a Witch but getting killed by it instead. I also wanted to do it on Realism for the challenge that the Witches would present: one hit from them and your dead. So here is the entire run in full. I did have the voice loopback command on as well, but I didn't want to talk too much. That and I was busy trying to avoid shooting Witches by accident, killing Infected, planning my next move and being scared at the sametime.













The mad thing is that even though I have done this map against the Infected, I want to do it again. This time taking the Infected out of play and putting the Special Infected in play instead.

I thought it was quite gd, loved the running commentary, more talking to yourself is needed :P

Use the any of the shotguns and aim from close range to the witches head, the auto-shotties work the best.
Stay with dual pistols or a machete, sword, sxe for normal infected.

You know after getting this game recently and playing through that level, I've got to say that you were lucky (and i'll explain how).

I played this on easy (just to get a feel for the game and to run through it once) and on that level the game decided to spawn 10, yes 10 different witches, 2 of which were a few feet apart (the 4th and 5th ones) so i had to pull them out of the way one at a time (much faster than me plucking up the courage to walk by them). I managed to avoid 2 though, would have been 3 but i accidentally pulled one when I shot her trying to kill normal infected (and I was a fair distance away fighting off a horde :/).
