13-12-08 @ 7PM UK Time

UKCS#2 is available at all other times as the custom & valve UKCS Mega Game Server


This is the event where we will test the xmas maps so they can run during the winter time. As these maps have a limited time on the server even if they pass we decided to do the testing a bit earlier. There will be 5 xmas maps during the tests and 3 normal ones. The normal maps will get on the normal rotation if they pass the test with a good rating.

The maps in the list:

Xmas maps:

de_icehouse
A retro looking house in the mood of xmas. Its basic layout should keep it fun to play

de_xmas_hotel
A large hotel map ready for xmas. Its size could make it look a bit empty but it might also make it ideal for server 1. As the routes are quite wide camping shouldnt be a problem though.

xmas_lodge
Another house in xmas style. After all, thats where you celebrate it.

xmas_nipperhouse
The legendary nipper's house in xmas style (well, the inside is a true remake - the outside probably not). Still, it has alot of routes to walk so can be fun

And here some normal maps:

de_losttemple2
The 5th and sadly the last map of d00ds.com after de_rush, de_nightfever, de_cpl_fire and of course de_losttemple. Its placed arround a majan temple that looks extremely good. Its probably a very good map as d00ds.com already have proved to be excellent in mapping.

de_tuscan
A remake (and edited version) of de_cpl_mill. it removes the exploit and makes room for more players which should make it better playable for both teams.

Note: When joining the server you will auto download the maps. however, its alot slower then as there will be alot more people downloading so its recommended to do it this way.


Event Details:
When: Saturday 13 December 2008 @ 19:00 uk time
Server: UKCS#2 - 213.228.232.222:27015
Map Duration: 20 Minutes per map
Event Duration: 2:40 hours (finishes at 21:40)
Slots Avaible: 46 (+ the usualy sponsor slots)
Alltalk: OFF

After the event the server will go back to its normal rotation

FYI, if you dont like a map dont go in spec for the complete map but play instead. Just rate the map bad then. If you are too long in spectator you will be kicked (1 round to go to the toilet however isnt a problem as long as you say afk in the chat - 5 rounds however guarantees a kick - exceptions can be made if you got a good reason). Also, extreme whining about the map being bad while everyone else loves it can also result in a punishment. The event is mainly ment for fun so repeatedly disruptive behaviour can result in a ban the lenght of the map test event! - however, dont worry if you just make the mistake once. we allways start with a warning ingame followed by a kick

This event will be scheduled in the UKCS Steam Community calendar and will post you a reminder when the event begins (1 hour before and the moment itself).

Friday and saturdays are for #2 maps to me, sundays for #3 as its up then anyway. if i would do #2 maps on sunday then #3 has to be down first or both would turn out half empty. I could do a friday also but prefer saturdays more.

Because it would be the end of the world if Server #3 was delayed in opening or was off for one night, I mean people would seriously start developing symptoms. Was interesting to see server #3 so full last week.

Most people don't do anything on a Sunday so that would be more beneficial I think, I don't mind either way though because I'm not sure if I'll make it myself :P

The problem is that most expect #3 to be up on sundays. Even if its announced to be down for a week then there are still alot that dont know it as they dont watch the forums and miss the steam community announcement or dont read its details. And if i would choose a sunday then many would wonder why i didnt choose a saturday.

19:30 - have a alcoholic beverage

Night sorted.

And i dont see my chosen xmas rat map on :< but on the other hand im out for a meal on that day, meh.

Looks kewl Can I asum on December 24/25 there will be a Xmas theme on #2
Sundays are better indeed then everybody can join on saturdays people go to the pub, watch football (or soccer i call it voetbal) or even play sport on saturday :wink:

They are on... otherwise we would get alot of people running arround like chickens which doesnt imitate any normal gameplay at all. As we want normal voting results they remain on.

Also, be in the server at least 15 minutes before it starts. otherwise it can become hard to get on.
