Well there is the granary/turbine 24/7 test coming after this. If that proves to be more popular than vanilla then I am sure the seniors will make the right choice :)

It does seem that vanilla is quite popular though not really my cup of tea.

We're very, very sorry, but we're going to have to cut the Vanilla mode trial a little shorter than planned. The hatless update has changed something fundamental with the weapon restrictions and until we can get it fixed, gameplay would most definitely not be vanilla.

As the amount of time taken to fix this will likely be longer than the few hours left in the trial, we'll be switching to the second trial a bit earlier than planned with the proviso we'll run the vanilla mod again when we have it working.

Again, we're really sorry for this.

We've had loads of feedback to that effect, which is great to hear! <3

We'll try and get the plugin fixed ASAP. :)

I liked it well enough for a change, but I think many others really appreciated it and welcomed it who wanted a return to 'old style' play. The opportunities for this are few and far between.

Unless the stats at the end of the trials prove it was markedly less popular than granary/turbine and generally not liked/played, then in the interests of providing extra choice for players (newer and older) it would be good to keep on.

If only there was a mod out there didn't break with every update.

A mod that forced melee only but still allowed for sticky jumping. A mod that banned melee unlocks. A mod that also included a taunt wars mode with no Huntsman.

But alas, there is no such thing. If there was it'd be the best mod ever and probably programmed by An Orange.

[hoping that Granary/Turbine will win because Vanilla was just... wrong]

EDIT: Yeah... the mod that doesn't exist also broke... Ignore smugness.

That is kind of the point of a trail, we want to see what is popular amongst the players on UKCS

Didn't play this mode as often I wanted to but I got nothing but positive feelings of this whole week. If I miss something to the gameplay that would be kritzkrieg and ubersaw for medic.

I wouldn't mind the Ubersaw being gone - But I think the KK is a vital part of the Medic class and that what I think Vanilla lacks the most. Unfortuneately I didn't even get onto the server, gettig in and having to queue and still not getting in is a right fail and testiment to its popularity.

I managed to disable hats just now, so it's still possible :P
Might not be the same method as before but it's still done in the same function you remove weapons.
