Late August gave Valve CEO Gabe Newell at Valve that they are quite excited by the idea of an MMORTS opportunity to develop. The current work on Team Fortress and Episode 3, stops them from doing so. Now the developer of Defense of the Ancients at Valve started working, there may be little more clarity about how this MMORTS will look like.
The developer IceFrog of Defense of the Ancients, a mod for Warcraft 3, Is currently still working hard on his game. DotA, but the creator says their future look brighter than ever because he now works at Valve:
"My goal and top priority in the future is to solve the issues that affect the surrounding DotA experience in order to allow it to reach new heights. Addressing these issues will enable us to further enjoy aspects of DotA such as the gameplay, mechanics, and in-game feel that currently work well and ought to be maintained. As I've said many times in the past and especially after today's developments, I am very excited about DotA's future! "
Could this mean that Valve is planning to make MMORTS in the of style DotA? They can of course something not do anything with the Warcraft universe, but it is a clear sign that Valve is finally busy with that MMORTS. What else should one RTS developer at Valve?
I hope it's understandable enough..
It becomes more understandable when you click on the links and read those articles (those are english)
