Having trouble with sprays on TF2

Ok, so TF2 wants files to be a certain height/width.

I resize my files using photoshop or microsoft office picture manager, save as JPEG.

Then I try to upload the file into TF2 and it tells me the file is corrupt.

Halp!?

Try messing around with the specs for saving a JPEG.

I seem to recall that worked for me.

Alternatively, I believe there's a folder where you can place .tiff files and use them as sprays.

i had that problem today, i just saved it as all the formats it reads and it got one in the end, without having to resize ettc. i believe it was targa. i used.

Its still This Is Nevvys spray but it lights up! (I hope, anyway)

Advices on sprays:
1. Save as TGA. JPG format never works.
2. Size should be powers of 2 (256X128, 512X512, etc.)
3. In order to make a transparent spray, flatten it all down (background is transparent), mark it all (Ctrl+Click on layer icon in photoshop), create a new channel in channels window, then paint it white (what you want to be seen should be in white). return to full RGB in the channels window, save as tga, et voilà

If ya having trouble with like, photoshop & other programs http://www.picnik.com/ are a great website that is simple to use, changing heights & optimizing your picture! There aint much to build with the *Free mode, but sure easy to change the heights and such for pictures to fit into forums & sprays

I normally save as a tga. 32bit tgas allow you to add transparency. Its also a lossless format ( no compression artaefacts ).
Special .vdf editing programs allow you to also add special effects like distance-fading (by altering custom mip-maps) and others.
If you are saving as a jpeg i would save in the 'most-standard' way possible, i.e use standard compression instead of "Optimised" or "Progressive". Save as high quality as possibe as it will be copressed again in the internal format - dont want to loose too much quality.

go to team fortress folder, /tf/materials/vgui/logos and delete the whatever files you want (dont forget to check in the UI folder there as well)
