Why did you get it, how did you get inspired to start playing? Why do you like the music it produces so much?
Do you have a 'bond' with your instrument, or do you just play on it for fun once in a while?
Are you very active?
Which instruments would you like to learn to play?
Pictures are welcome, just try keep the filesizes down or post thumbnails/links.

I have 2 guitars atm, had another one some time ago.
Why did I get a guitar in the first place? Because I started to fall in love with them, music in the first place.
Teh Story:
I always liked music, but I started to develop a taste for extreme and experimental music like Noise (Merzbow), Noiserock (Boris), Drone (Earth, Sun O))) ) and also the most brutal
goregrind I could find on the internet, the expression of the music intrigued me, how harsh can it get, how extreme can it get. So I discovered (hardcore) punk, especially The Sex Pistols in the beginning..
I loved the stories behind the punk-scene and it's bands... the sound of the music, so powerful, not giving a shit about clean sounds, just bash on that guitar.
I've found Black Flag, Minor Threat etc. Meanwhile I always listened to other rock bands like Muse, Rammstein, Ramones, Turbonegro.
Turbonegro was also a band I loved and still love, their lead guitarist is amazing, playing a solo while sitting in the neck of his bandmate, insane.
I liked the music, I loved the guitars, I loved the way you can express yourself by creating something with your own fingers, how people get dragged away with an amazing song.
'I should just get a guitar, doesn't matter how or which one, as long as I get one so I can start playing!'
Went to the music store and got me a cheap 'home-brand' Les Paul guitar, amp, cable and at home my passion for guitars and music grew.
Played for hours while browsing for lessons on youtube of easy songs like 'God Save The Queen' from the Sex Pistols and 'Blitzkrieg Bop' from The Ramones.
Looking back it sounded like sh*t haha but I loved every second, fingers sore or not, still playing on.
Because my interest for music grew so much, I started to research lots of genre's.. from pop rock to black metal. In every genre I got at least 1 band or artist I like.
Guitar got stolen, so I got a guitar 'on loan' from a good friend.. I couldn't think of one more week without playing, it really made me find out how much I really 'needed' it.
Of course I wanted a new one, and this time I spend ages looking for the right guitar. It was going to be a Gibson Les Paul.. A friend of mine advised an Ibanez.
I was totally against it, because well... I wanted a Gibson Les Paul ffs, no way I'm gonna buy something else, I had my mind set on it! He told me to try some Ibanez guitars out when we went to the store.
So there we were and I tried a couple of guitars, including an Epiphone Les Paul, Epiphone SG, Gibson Les Paul, Gibson SG and a couple of low/mid range Ibanez guitars.
I found out that those Les Pauls were quite heavy and big, the Ibanez's thinner, both body and neck, also it had jumbo frets and a floyd rose on it. I had to make a decision between a Gibson Les Paul and an SG...
Also I had an Ibanez on the sideline but somehow it didn't feel right. So.. the Les Paul or the SG...Les Paul, SG... I just couldn't make the decision, I went home with.. nothing.
Started to look around on more sites of shops, Ibanez information etc.. my eye fell on the RG 1570 Prestige, good price for a high-range guitar opposed to the Gibsons which were, and still are imo, overpriced.
Looked up lots of video's on the internet, checked reviews, etc.. seemed like this guitar could squeeze out every sound you want... that's what this friend told me before didn't he?
Checked again for shops nearby and guess what... I found a shop in the neighborhood and I mailed them to ask if they still had the guitar. Jup, only 1 to be precise. I got told they'd keep it for me to test in the store.
Next day, to the shop! 'I mailed the store yesterday, I'm here to see the RG 1570'... A man went to get it for me... 'Here it is..' he showed me the guitar and I got so excited about it, I was going nuts

Went into the testing room, he asked me which amp I wanted to use, as I had to buy an amp also. 'Doesn't matter, as long as its not too expensive and too big, it's just for home practise at the moment'.
He got, I think it was a little Vox tube amp.. 'I think this ain't a good amp for you, as you also want to play some metal on it'... it didn't have a powerful gain on it, but sure it sounded great, 'raw and chunky'.
He went to get another amp, more expensive but I just wanted to test the guitar first.
The first thing I did was checking for the resonance of the tones, the decay how long it takes for a note to fade. It was insane, kept going and going... tried a couple of messy riffs I learned before,
but I wasn't paying attention to what I played actually, and after 5 minutes of playing I wasn't even paying attention to the sound anymore, because I already made the decision in my head, this was the guitar!
Phew, I just noticed how long this story have gotten, I can go on and on if it comes to music and guitars.
I walked out with my new guitar, a Roland Micro Cube, which has lots of power, but is still compact (can even run on 8 AA batteries xD) and it has insane distorion, various model amp presets and effects.
Since then, there has been no week without playing on my guitar.
I still got the other guitar, the quality isn't comparable, but I love it because I can bash on it while having it tuned in Drop C, which is harder on the Ibanez, because of the Floyd Rose system that takes a while to retune if you want to go let's a whole scale down. I got it set so I can play it in normal tuning and Drop D. I might even be able to play in open D if I adjust the little screws in the locking system,
but if I want to go lower, I got to adjust quite a lot.
So the other guitar is great when I want to play a song in let's say Drop C and after that I want to play a song in normal tuning. Also it's a bit warmer in tone I think, so heavy riffs get quite brutal

I play almost everyday, for at least an hour a day, mostly I grab it whenever I hear a song I like, ending up spending ages learning new songs

Why I play it? because it's fun, because the feelings I get from it are great, you can only know when you play guitar yourself, you forget everything around you, it really helps when I got a bad day for example and sometimes I can daze off, almost falling asleep while playing. You just keep playing and playing like there's no end some times

Info and pictures:
Ibanez RG 1570 Prestige Mirage Red '05

I have this guitar since end 2009, first-hand, straight out of the factory in Japan, 4 years old, but it was never sold before. No dust, no scratches, couldn't notice it anything, it had been taken care of very well by the shop owners as far as I could tell.
Still has its original pickups, (2 humbuckers, 1 singlecoil), Floydd Rose, original strings!... which is insane because usually I should replace strings each month or 2 months.. It's even like they sound better and better the older they get, very weird, maybe because they get easier to bend

Straplocks are the only things not original, bought them immediatly in the store as I don't want it to fall.
Stagg Stratocaster (don't know the model, I wish I knew, can't find it anywhere)

It looks like this without inlays on the fingerboard, dot inlays on the side. Fingerboard painted black. 3 singlecoils, 5-way switch. Locked Tremelo.
Soon I will go buy an acoustic guitar, maybe a Fender CD-60 or something along those lines.
Oh yeah, and I definitely want to have a starters-DJ rig, but that's gonna be so expensive

Hopefully we can share some stories
