tf2 preparing to launch ;/

just built my shiny new pc, started installing games, but when it gets to TF2 and cs:s i just get stuck on download starting and preparing to launch :S

other steam games such as cs 1.6 and dod:s have installed fine.

anyone got any idea why and or how to fix this?

ive done the usual reinstalls of steam, deleting local files and tried re downloading them, validating files etc etc

I had a problem like this with an update. Eventually it just fixed itself. Also using windows 7
