Everytime i try to run the game i get the error message " Left4dead2 has stopped working"

Not sure what the problem could be i know my machine is capable of running the game np's and i've done the cache thin in steam to see if that helped but it hasn't.

you'd think so but when I had an issue with cs:go a couple of weeks ago (different kind of issue but still) I ended up reinstalling and it fixed the problem even though verifying game cache came up with no problems.

After double clicking this is what happens both in steam and on the desktop

Now i'm being told the game is unavailable at this time(After deelting and trying to re-install) is there a problem with Steam that i am unaware of?

launches for me no problem but steam had an update and restarted. maybe that's the issue for you?

Yep most frustrating part!

Just uninstalled steam and re-installing outside of Program Files and see if that helps at all.

Looks like it might be a DirectX problem. Try running in DX8 using a command line switch? I know you can do it with TF2.
